Ferringghi Garden , Penang

I know, its been months I never updated my blog.  Sorry, will try to update my blog more often as  my laptop sent for repair for the 2nd time. I just got it back few weeks back. During that period I didn’t shoot any photos, so don’t know what to update as well.

Yes, Ferringhi Garden Restaurant, sounds expensive right? Well not quite true. Apparently the price tags are lower than other restaurants around the area, depend on what sort of foods you’re comparing with. Given the envrionment and decoration of a restaurant of such, its cheap or competitive I should say.  The decor match on their title – Garden. It has Garden feel coz alot of flowers, plants and so which you can expect from a garden. Would it be alot of mosquitoes? I can’t assure you that, atleast not that night we went .

I made a reservation for 2, but they didn’t ask for it. They served walk in guests anytime, perhaps plenty of tables available. Unless they have functions or events, else we can just walk in to dine. It make sense because alot tourists around that area, they should ready for walk in guests anytime! It was to celebrate Khaisui’s birthday with this kinda romantic restaurant, glad she likes it. 😀 Overally, I highly recommend this place for a candle light dinner with your love one or any sort of gathering with friends. Reasonable price, relaxing environment and good services.

We reached the restaurant kinda late, and its getting dark. Unfortunately, my flash gun battery running low, unable to shoot as the lighting not appropriate for shooting. Anyhow managed to shoot some before the battery ran flat.

Gasoline & Kissaten

1st of all, I must thanks my buddy Kennhyn who treated me at Kissaten, thank you bro. Back to Penang, on me!! Kissaten is a  restaurant which located in Jaya One at Petaling Jaya. It mainly served japanese cuisine and also all others international foods like pizza, chinese foods, desserts and so much more.

1st glance at the Menu, all the foods/beverages are well displayed and catergorized. And there are so many to choose on, you might need a few visit atleast if you want to try out all in the menu. Ok, the important part is, the price range are very mass-oriented which considering cheap compared to other cafe, that’s the plus point!! Anyway, thanks to Kennhyn who knows the boss, he recommended us some dishes which not really in Menu, else might headache on what to choose. We ordered quite many and shared among 3 of us, else we won’t able to finish it all by ourself. The foods were well prepared and delicious, very Recommended to all!!

After that I went to another cafe with my cousins, Its Gasoline. Kind of like Segafredo but with different theme. The theme is more about online gaming I guess. Not too sure, perhaps those who saw the pictures will know. The design & decoration of the cafe kinda unique, never seen it anywhere in Penang. It located somewhere in the “The Herritage” which near “The Mines” in Seri Kembangan.  A good place to hang out with friends and some nice lake view around.

Shared here with some miscellaneous shots during the night at Kissaten & Gasoline. Not all dishes photo we ordered were took, cause too busy to eat. 😀 By the way,  Kissaten means cafe in japanese, another definition is because its so delicious till your “kiss a ten” fingers of yours!! 😛

Golden Triangle, Autocity

Golden Triangle interlinked 3 different countries which are Thailand, Vietnam and Laos. It used to be a famous place on opium producing/smuggling and other illegal activities here. Not too sure whether those activities still on going, but I won’t bother to find it out.

The Golden Triangle I’m going to talk about is nothing to do with opium or any other smuggler activities, its about a restaurant! It named Golden Triangle because they have some similarity in between. Both were also related to Thailand, Vietnam & Laos. Just that one is about opium and another one is about food. The restaurant offers famous foods from above mentioned 3 countries. That means you can tried 3 different tastes of food in 1 restaurant. Sound cool eh? Well, you may find the restaurant at Autocity, Juru, Penang. Next to Boston (又一城).
Please follow the link here for more details.

We went on last Thursday to celebrate on Khaisui’s Birthday. The restaurant’s environment are excellent, nice design and feel. The waiters/waitress were very friendly and helpful. We paid RM45nett per pax for a buffet dinner. Its not like those buffets you had in hotels, it has menu for you to choose and order. That’s mean foods were cooked only as requested. Kind of “Eat all you can” in ala carte style.  Anyway, its recommended to go in group, perhaps 4-8 persons, else you couldn’t taste all the dishes in menu.  Overally, this restaurant is Recommended to all, nice foods, reasonable price and good environments.

I managed to shoot a few pictures during the dinner.  Some photos weren’t sharp and some kinda blur. We ordered more than 10 dishes but I didn’t manage to shoot all. Sorry about that, was busy eating and the lighting kinda dark over there. 😛

BriPEx, is the largest Bridal & Photography Exibition in northern region which held at PISA, Penang. I wouldn’t have missed out since it labeled the largest ever exhibition. Well, it meant largest probably because it joint exhibition by those famous bridal houses and photographic equipment distributors at the largest arena in Penang. Advertisements and flyers were enough for this exhibtion to spread around, but it didn’t bring in big crowds as PC FAIR did. What a shame. Louis Pang speeches and tutorial talks seem not enough to attract crowds.

Ok, Now back to our topic Canton-i, I’m sorry to stuck at BriPEx above . I bring that up because we went Canton-i after the BriPEx. 😛 I’m not going to repeat what already had in other website about Canton-i. There are dozen of websites wrote about Canton-i by food blogger. Please search around yourself.

I’ll summurized it in short, Canton-i more to Hong Kong food, while Dragon-i more to Shang Hai food. And I personally prefered Dragon-i over Canton-i. Why? Simple, Canton-i is simply just another Hong Kong  Style Restaurent you can find in a shopping mall.  Anyway, Canton-i, nothing much to cheer about, but something to boo about, are the expensive price tag and so so food!  Definitely not worth what you have paid for! Please do try it yourself, so you’ll understand! 😀

By the way, they not allowed us to take photo of their surroundings, thought we might stole their designs or what! But, we still allowed to take photo of us and foods. Here it is!

Soho – Autocity

A nice place to hang out. Great environments, nice songs were played and various type of drinks, but for the foods were just so so. The building’s design are based on France style or maybe British. Anyhow its definitely worth you a visit.

I went for my candle light dinner with my dear khaisui there for my birthday dinner. Frankly, this not the right place to have a candle light dinner, but since I never been there, so it worth for a try. I ordered 2 glasses of beers, 1 is Kilkenny and another 1 is Heineken. You can check that out in the photo gallery.

The inner side were kinda dark and the lights were too dim to take a shot. Luckily I had my fast prime lens attached, and set my camera to ISO3200. So I still managed to take few shots in it. I’m impressed with the D90 on handling noise, even at ISO3200 it still performed admirably!

Homestyle – Inderawashi

Tired of Old Town coffees? No more alcohol beer or wisky at pub? Against the government taxes and service charge taxes? Well, there is a place where you can have nice coffees while without any taxes been charged! And they do provide Free Internet Wi-Fi services at decent speed where you couldn’t get at Old Town. Who are ‘they’ ? Homestyle coffee shop is what I meant here.
1st, they won’t pack like Old town where you hardly could find a nice spot to sit during peak time.
2nd, it is much quieter than Old Town. You won’t need to shout when talking.
3rd, nice and easy environment, open aired where you won’t be trapped by smokes.
4th, cheaper and quite delicious foods were served. But I didn’t try out all the foods, if you found that the foods suck, screw them. Not me! Try their curry mee, quite nice!
5th and so, Go find out yourself.
They do have other branches around but I just know their Inderawasih and Seberang Jaya branches. They are serving halal foods. If happened that you have Malay friends/colleages to hang out, this is the place for you, no longer always Mamak stall as your only choice!
